The AACU collaborated with fellow physician groups and patient advocacy organizations on an October 13, 2021, letter to N.Y. Governor Kathy Hochul that reads, in part:
Prohibiting mid-year formulary changes introduces a measure of fairness…New Yorkers deserve to have the assurance that the reason they chose their plan will remain in place for the entire year for which they are committed to.
The letter goes on to assert that signing the legislation to prohibit non-medical switching “is the first step towards making sure the future for all New Yorkers is a healthier one.”
