AACU and other medical societies and associations have been sounding the alarm that physicians face devastating Medicare payment cuts from regulatory changes enacted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services if Congress doesn’t act by the end of the year. Due to a combination of these statutory and budget neutrality payment cuts, physicians face more than 8.42% in Medicare payment cuts. When adjusted for inflation, Medicare physician payments have dropped by 22% from 2001 to 2021.
Help ensure that Congress acts by reaching out to your legislators today.
- Ask Congress to act by the end of 2022 to act in the lame duck session to prevent reductions to Medicare payment rates from being implemented.
- Find and email your representative, and ask them to co-sponsor HR 8800, the Supporting Medicare Providers Act of 2022.
