The Virginia Delegation to the AMA recently met with Samantha Koehler, Health Policy Advisor for US Virginia Senator Tim Kaine as part of the AMA’s National Advocacy Month. Discussed were the AMA’s top three legislative priorities for this year: 1.) Permanent expanded access to covered telehealth services 2.) Medicare physician payment reform and 3.) Reducing prior authorization burdens (view the AMA talking points). The group was confident that it left Ms. Koehler with a greater understanding of how these issues impact medical care for the benefit of our patients.
