AACU Reviews CMS released information on the No Surprises Act (NSA)

The AACU is reviewing this information and will respond as appropriate. The newly released information from CMS includes:

  • Final rules taking into account the two district court rulings on the NSA, addressing issues related to disclosures by plans and issuers about the Qualifying Payment Amount (QPA) and guidance for certified Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) entities on payment determination considerations
  • A set of FAQs providing guidance on provide guidance on NSA requirements, including qualifying payment amount qualification calculations and how NSA protections related to closed- and no-network plans.
  • A status update on the federal IDR process and provided additional guidance detailing on a new page on the CMS NSA website.
